How we verify performance data

Self-reported numbers are easy. Coaches discount them because they can't tell what's real. Where a public profile exists, we read it ourselves and show the actual value on your Reality Report — with a timestamp, a link to re-check it, and an honest note when we can't. If your sport isn't listed below, we don't verify it yet.

Tennis

Public UTR profile (myutr.com)
What we verify
Singles UTR
Notes
We read the number shown on your public profile. If it differs from what you entered by more than 0.3, we flag a mismatch and use the verified value in your score.

Swimming

Source
Public swim profile (e.g. SwimCloud / USA Swimming)
What we verify
Best times: 50/100/200 Free, 100 Back, 100 Fly, 200 IM
Notes
We parse the best time on record per event. Mismatches from self-reported times are flagged and the verified time is used.

Track & Field

What we verify
100m, 400m, 800m, 1600m/Mile, 100/110m Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus
Notes
We take the best mark on file per event. Same mismatch rule as above.

Baseball

What we verify
Fastball velo, exit velo
Notes
PG profiles vary — some players don't have velos publicly listed. In that case we leave your self-reported values in place and say so on the report, rather than guess.

Freshness

Every verified value carries the timestamp of when we last read it. Anything older than 30 days is flagged as stale on the report. You can hit “Re-verify now” on any verified card at any time, and we automatically re-check profiles once they cross the 20-day mark.

Mismatches

When the number on your profile is meaningfully different from what you entered, we don't hide it and we don't overwrite you silently. The report shows both, marks it as a mismatch, and uses the verified value in your score. Coaches see the same thing you do.

When we can't verify

Profiles get set to private, page layouts change, or the URL doesn't point at a supported source. When that happens the report says so in plain language and falls back to your self-reported number. We never fabricate a “verified” value.

Privacy

The profile URL you save is only used server-side to fetch the metrics. We never expose it on your report or share it back to other users. Only the parsed values, the timestamp, and the status (verified / mismatch / could-not-read) are ever returned to the app.
